Junior Sportsmanship

In 1986 the New England Equitation Committee established the perpetual Sportsmanship Award to be presented to a junior rider in their last year whose character best exemplifies the definition of sportsman-ship, including conduct and attitude representing fair play, courtesy, a striving spirit and graciousness in victory and defeat. 

The award will be presented to a junior rider who, in the opinion of the Committee, best represents all positive aspects of horse showing, and is not only an effective rider, but a good horseman who cares for their horse and about their horse, and someone who demonstrates a sincere interest in their family, friends, and fellow exhibitors.
